Raising the Bar: Broadcast Studios in the Age of AI

Everyone says "AI will do the dubbing and the studios will empty." Donato Masci, CEO of Studio Sound Service, sees the opposite: AI raises the bar, and it hands designers the tools to clear it. Drawing on the rooms his team has designed for Iyuno across three continents, for Dubbing Brothers, for Cinecittà and for many other dubbing and post-production facilities, he shows what "really good" means for a voice in 2026, and how smaller rooms, tighter budgets and shorter deadlines are met with a new way of designing: wave-based simulation calibrated on real materials, and AI-assisted optimisation of monitor placement and low-frequency treatment. Better rooms for better voices: the future of broadcast from the point of view of the studio.

Remote Audio Production & Live Mixing in Dolby Atmos

Providing an inside look at the technical setup and production workflow of the Remote Audio Control Room (RACR) in Darmstadt, which is used every week to produce live Dolby Atmos, Surround and Stereo feeds for Bundesliga broadcasts and Sky Germany, the workshop will explore the complete signal and production chain behind remote live sports mixing.

While focusing on the challenges of mixing live sports in Dolby Atmos, the session will also cover the various opportunities and limitations of Remote Production. Using real-world Bundesliga productions from the RACR as examples, the session offers practical insights into current immersive sports production workflows and shows how remote production is changing the way major live broadcasts are produced.
